The battery of your Power-e-bike<\/a> electric bike kit for dummies.<\/h2>\n

To begin, I think that like me, you must have asked yourself at the time of your purchase at power e-bike:<\/p>\n

– what would be the ideal battery to buy with this kit?<\/p>\n

First of all, here is what I can tell you about that:<\/p>\n

Firstly, you will need to define the ideal power to select for your kit; the simplest trick is to base yourself on the power output of an average cyclist, i.e. about 150-300 Watts.<\/p>\n

For this, power-e-bike has added a small logo on the electric pack you will choose:<\/p>\n

Reminder: it is the controller present in the pack that will determine the real power of your kit.<\/em><\/p>\n

So, assuming you decide to be a big lazybones (-;, and you want to turn your bike into an electric bike able to leave behind the scooters of our dear button-pushing teenagers.<\/p>\n

You will surely choose the 35 A controller supplied in the electric bike accessory packs:<\/p>\n

35 TLCD<\/a> or (35 HLCD<\/a> if you would rather have a motorbike-style twist-grip throttle)<\/p>\n

With such power, this kit will therefore be able to provide you with an average power of about 8 cyclists!!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n

your electric bike kit will have a maximum power of:<\/h2>\n

– 2000 Watts if fitted with a 60v nominal battery<\/h4>\n

– 1650 Watts if fitted with a 48v nominal battery<\/h4>\n

– 1200 Watts if fitted with a 36v nominal battery.<\/h4>\n

And yes, it must be said that at power-e-bike, the same kit works with several batteries without any modification! Wonderful, isnu0027t it!<\/h5>\n

Assuming you still want an ultra-powerful electric bike, you will go for a 60 V nominal battery.<\/p>\n

And the simplest trick will be to choose a battery with a continuous discharge capacity<\/strong> at least equal to that of the controller<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

– In this case, in our example, a 35 A one.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Continuous discharge capacity<\/strong>, for an electric bike battery??? What is it?<\/h4>\n

First of all, it will be its capacity to deliver constant energy throughout your ride, i.e. at least 35 A (A = Amperes).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do not confuse it with the discharge current peak<\/strong>, which will not be constant (between 20 and 120 seconds depending on the manufacturers).<\/p>\n

So, to keep it simple, let us look together at examples of batteries found at random on the net:<\/p>\n

I have put comments directly on the images, it will be much simpler:<\/p>\n

– example with a 60v 15Ah battery<\/h2>\n

on the other hand, note the range, which will be barely 20km.<\/p>\n

With those 40A of continuous discharge (in English Rated discharge current), this electric bike battery will suit our 35A controller very well and a fortiori all the others.<\/h4>\n
