If dirt collects between the magnetic washer and the detection cell, clean it with a soft cloth.<\/li>\n<li>The <b>controller<\/b> needs no maintenance; never immerse it in water.<\/li>\n<li>Wipe the <b>motor<\/b> clean with a damp sponge; never use a pressure washer (motor for RH205C-type bikes: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.power-e-bike.fr\/fr\/accessoires-velo-electrique\/moteur-electrique-pour-velo-rh205c-type-s-nine-continent-.html\">RH205 motor<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the <b>brake sensor magnets<\/b> touch each other: check regularly that cables and connectors stay in place.<\/li>\n<li>The <b>battery<\/b>: store it dry, recharge at least once a month in winter and avoid full discharge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Maintain the mechanical part<\/h2>\n<p>For cleaning, use a cloth, a degreaser or a lubricant:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Clean the chain<\/b> with dedicated products: dirt stuck to the chain is abrasive and destroys transmission parts, shortening the life of your <i>electric bike<\/i>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Grease the brake pads<\/b>: the pad angle must be adjusted so the bike stays quiet.<\/li>\n<li><b>Clean disc brakes<\/b> with a suitable product or a cloth soaked in 90% alcohol.<\/li>\n<li><b>Check the tyre pressure<\/b> regularly: the right pressure saves the battery and protects the rims.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If a tyre or inner tube must be replaced, always disconnect the motor power supply via the connector system first.<\/p>\n<h2>Watch the weak points of an electric bike<\/h2>\n<p>With regular use, the parts under most strain are the chain, the brake pads and the tyres. A quick look every two weeks is enough to catch a stretched cable, a worn pad or an under-inflated tyre before they become a breakdown.<\/p>\n<p>Wrenching on your own bike?
