From the 250W e-bike to the powerful rear motor kit
07/10/2026The electric bike, elected brilliant idea of the year!
07/10/2026While the use of electric bikes as an urban means of transport enjoys remarkable growth, for ecological but also economic reasons, the two-wheeler world represents, for its part, a new high-potential market for car manufacturers, who are increasingly interested in the eco-mobility concept.
Citroën, BMW, Peugeot, Suzuki, Honda,… These car manufacturers are well positioned in the e-bike market for a few years now. Today it is Ford and KIA’s turn to show ingenuity. They are committing to healthier urban mobility and offer environment-friendly e-bikes.
The new KIA electric bike
KIA is not at all new to the two-wheeler field. The brand has indeed offered bikes since 1944. This year, KIA unveils the features of its new electric bike, the K velo EV. It is an e-bike able to easily reach a speed of 25 km/h. It weighs barely 20 kg and comes with a removable battery that charges in just 4 hours. Also, the K velo EV is equipped with a 250 W Bosch electric motor. The K velo EV will be presented in two models with different ranges: 50 kilometres and 70 kilometres.
The new Ford electric bike
The American manufacturer, Ford, launches two electric bikes, the MoDe:Me and the MoDe:Pro. The first is dedicated to individuals while the second rather targets professionals. Both bikes, fitted with a 9 Ah battery and a 200 W motor, can reach a top speed of 25 km/h. Both models are foldable and can be stored in a car boot, notably that of a Ford. Also, both bikes come with an ultra-sonic sensor to warn the cyclist by vibrating the handlebar grips when a vehicle is about to overtake.
The KIA and Ford electric bikes are not yet on sale, as they are still in the experimentation phase.
